Local fishing,
Local escape.
A peaceful escape in the heart of the Shropshire countryside. Quality fishing, natural surroundings, everyone welcome.
Unhurried fishing
Hammersley Pools is a small, quiet coarse fishery at White Farm, in the heart of Ashley, a village near Market Drayton. Cleared, re-stocked and reopened in 2026, the pool is for anglers who would rather fish somewhere peaceful than shoulder to shoulder on a busy commercial complex.
We keep numbers deliberately low, so there is always room to spread out and enjoy the day.
Well stocked, well spaced
An intimate, well-proportioned pool with level, well-spaced pegs right around its banks. Big enough to give every angler room, small enough to feel calm. Reserve a place and pick your peg on arrival.
- Carp into double figures, with quality silvers alongside
- Float, feeder or pole – it all fishes well here
- A second, larger pool is planned to open in 2027
- EA rod licence required for everyone aged 13 and over
What you’ll be fishing for
A look around
The Fourteen
We cap every session at fourteen pegs, so the bank stays quiet and the fishing stays good. The pegs are spaced right around the water, with plenty of room between each one.
